Solar Training Cohort - COMPACT Collaboration

SafeSol recently completed a Solar Training Cohort in collaboration with COMPACT in Oceanside, CA, created to introduce young adults to the fundamentals of the solar industry and career pathways in clean energy. Led by our founder, Gonzalo Flores, the program guided participants through structured learning that blended classroom instruction with supervised hands-on training.

OUTCOMES

One of the most rewarding outcomes of this cohort was seeing participants gain confidence in real time, many entered with little to no experience, and completed the program with hands-on skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work as a team in a real jobsite environment.

Throughout the cohort, students gained exposure to solar panel systems, installation practices, jobsite readiness, OSHA-aligned safety standards, and essential first aid skills. Participants learned not only how solar systems work, but how to approach every task with safety, accountability, and professional discipline, skills that translate directly into the field.

By the end of the program, participants graduated with practical experience, foundational industry knowledge, and increased readiness for entry-level opportunities in solar and energy-related careers.
